When a photographer contacts you about portraits of his family, this is the highest compliment! Not only is Charles a talented photographer himself, his wife Kristen is a self proclaimed critic of photography. You can only imagine my excitement when I heard from them about a family session this fall. I have seen beautiful portraits hung on the walls of their home and posted on their Facebook profiles, so I was beyond thrilled to be asked to document their family this year.

We decided to meet at the historic Roswell bridge at golden hour. Our session was pushed back by all the rain this fall, but that's beside the point. We scheduled a new time and it couldn't have been more perfect...we pretty much had Vickery Park all to ourselves! 

With a family of 6 (3 of those being young boys) you would expect crazinesss! But no, this family was AMAZING. The boys were so well behaved, cooperative, and handsome, I couldn't have asked for more. Little miss Lillian, the S family's sweet baby, was beautiful, smiley, too adorable, and the star of the day.

I could not have asked for a more perfect family to photograph on this fall evening! I am flattered and honored, more than I can say, to have been able to capture your family this year, S family! Here are a few of my favorites from our time together...

lovely extended family | atlanta family photographer

This is a very special family that my husband has known since his childhood days in Northern Virginia. I've meet Susan a few times since she moved down to Atlanta, so I was thrilled when she contacted me this summer about an extended family session for the fall! This was the first time I got to meet the grandparents and they were so much fun. There's also something special about photographing a family that your family has known for so long. It was a lovely evening.

Susan and her husband, Chris, welcomed their baby girl Allison this summer. What an adorable little doll baby! She gave us the cutest smiles with dimples big blue eyes and all kinds of preciousness. I LOVED photographing her and all the people who love her at her grandparents home in Avondale Estates. one year old adorableness | alpharetta baby photographer

One of my favorite things about what I do is photographing families as their children grow. This is one of those families and I consider it such a joy to work with them in particular. I first met the Wells when "Little Bear" was just 8 days new and absolutely loved them from the first minute. We always have so much to talk about and all 3 are naturals in front of the camera.

This year we met at the Big Creek Greenway and walked to a little spot where I like to take families. The trees were just beginning to turn and although the mosquitos were downright evil (lol) the light was perfect on this evening. There is so much love in this family and it was so special for me to have the opportunity to capture the Wells again this year. Thank you Jackie and Matt for another beautiful session! precious triplets ~ fall photos | atlanta family photographer

I cannot say enough wonderful things about this family. And WOW how beautiful are they?? Not only are mom and dad exceptional in every way, they have three absolutely precious babies. Littles T, S, and C have grown so much since I last saw them on their baptism day.  I could not get over their cuteness then so you can imagine how thrilled I was to hear from their mama about a family session this fall! Each baby has already started to develop a distinct personality and I loved hearing about and even witnessing some of the new things they're doing.

We met at one of my favorite locations, Lullwater Park in Decatur, on a gorgeous evening and took some photos by the lake and in a nice open field. Next, we moved to their home for an image on the front steps of their perfectly beautiful Decatur home. Enjoy this overload of adorableness that is the d family!

happy siblings ~ 4 year and 9 month photos | Johns Creek Child Photographer

I was so happy to see this beautiful mama and her babies for an afternoon mommy and me session! Big sister Hazel is 4, and that's a 4 going on sixteen I might add! This precious girl is so smart, imaginative, and mature, I would happily hang out with her any day of the week. Baby brother Malachi has the most beautiful eyes and platinum blond hair and his smile would make anyone happy. These siblings mama is a special friend of mine - an intelligent, caring, loving (the list could go on) woman that Malachi and Hazel will be proud to always call her mommy. :) D family, this session was an honor and I'm so happy that I had the opportunity to capture these adorable kids and their mommy. beautiful new addition | Johns Creek Baby Photographer

I can't say enough great things about this session and the beautiful family that you'll see here. I just love newborn sessions and this one was so much fun. And you will not believe how amazing this momma looks, just 8 days after giving birth! I'm so impressed.

Chelsey was a sorority sister of mine at Samford and she and her husband recently moved to Atlanta and to open their own location of Iron Tribe Fitness. I loved catching up with her, meeting her husband Chaz, hearing about their new business and of course, photographing their beautiful new addition Nora! Such a special family.

Nora was an absolute angel during our session. She slept, let us pose her sweetly, and took snuggle and eating breaks with mommy and daddy and then was ready to get back to work! I just love how the images turned out from our session.

Thank you, Tillman family, for allowing me to capture Nora during these precious, early days of her life! You have such a sweet and beautiful girl and she is so blessed to have you as parents! I wish you all the best during this magical time:)

Happy 1st Birthday Millie! 

This precious girl is the cutest ball of joy. Always cheerful and grinning, she was a great model! Big sister Claire is one of my son Jack's friends- he loves her and talks about her almost daily. Sweet kids. 

Millie's session took place at her home and we made sure to get some sweet shots of the birthday girl, big sis, and the two of them together. It was a super fun morning.  We ended the session with a cake smash where cake ended up everywhere! Even between Millie's toes:) I'd say it was a success!

I was so excited about this session for my friends the Gersters and hoped that we would get lucky and have a warm December session. Not so much, it was freezing!!!

We got some really sweet shots in the short time we were together but will be finishing this session on a warmer day. So look for more of this beautiful family soon!

9 month old cutie pie | milton family photographer

I can't say enough about how much I love this family! I have had the pleasure of photographing cutie pie Joseph when he was a newborn, at 3 months, 6 months, and now 9 months. It has been so fun to see how much he's grown at each milestone and I have really enjoyed getting to know his parents.

This little boy is so loved by his mommy and daddy and has such a precious personality that you can already see at just 9 months old. For this session, we met at a historic park and covered bridge in Ball Ground. Joseph's mommy always chooses beautiful locations and this one was no different. We had a great evening and I absolutely loved capturing Joseph at this stage of his sweet little life:)

baby girl baptism | Atlanta Family Photographer

I had the pleasure of photographing Juliette's baptism last Saturday. It was a super fun session and a beautiful and meaningful service and I truly enjoyed being part of this day for the Rudolf family. 

The Rudolf's are friends of a friend of mine and after talking with Cheri I realized that I had met her mom once before at a cookie swap last Christmas. They are an incredibly fun family and I totally felt welcome and like I was one of the guests on this important day.  And Miss Juliette was the happiest baby ever- all I had to do was call her name and she would give me the hugest grin!:) 

I love how all of the images turned out from the baptism and am honored that I was there to witness sweet Juliette's baptism.  You have a beautiful family!

Tub Play | Alpharetta Photographer, Atlanta Family Photographer

Our little guy LOVES bath time! One afternoon, we decided to let him have a go in the big tub in our master bath. He had a blast, of course. As you can see, there's a large mirror right above the tub. Jack used that to come up with this game... he would squat down in the tub, call "jaaaaackiiiieeee," and jump up and *surprise* himself. It was great fun for him and we love watching him come up with cute games on his own. We look forward to lots more "bathie" games with you, Jack!

The more I learn about lifestyle photography, the more I love it. I've always thought that I would love for my pictures to tell a story. That's exactly what lifestyle photography is all about. Here's my "sandbox story" from a jack and daddy session recently:)

Leaderman Family Session | Sandy Springs Family Photographer, Johns Creek Photographer

Cookie and Papa Leaderman wanted to hold a family photo session at their beautiful home in Sandy Springs on the occasion that all of the children and grandchildren were in town (Son, DIL, and baby live in NYC). I am honored that they asked me to capture their family at this wonderful stage in their lives.  

Their daughter Jenni and I quickly became good friends after meeting at church. Before I had Jack, I used to babysit their girls and Jenni held a baby shower at her home for me. Jenni and Gabe have been great friends to us over the last 6 years that we have known them. Gabe even let jack borrow the crib that he built by hand for his girls! They are a talented and fun family and we are thankful to call them friends.

Because I enjoy Jenni, Gabe, and girls so much I knew this session would be awesome. And it was so much fun, they were so welcoming and I felt like I was just over to hang out while we all enjoyed each other's company. The evening was perfect and I am thrilled with the images that we captured.

Sweet little Joseph is six months old! This is such great stage and possibly one of my favorite baby ages. They'll sit still and smile for you but can't crawl (or run for that matter!) away.  I have thoroughly enjoyed each session with his family and this one was no different for sure. 

Joseph was an excellent model during our shoot... big blue eyes, chunky baby legs, and a huge, sweet grin that really came out when his mommy would sing "Itsy Bitsy Spider." Alicia and Josh, I am so honored to have the opportunity to document this stage of your life with Joseph. You have a beautiful family!

I was thrilled to hear from my college sorority sister, Emily, when she asked me to do her beautiful Bailey's one year session. On my way to meet them, I thought about how I hadn't seen her in almost 9 years! How is that possible?? I can't believe I've been out of college for that long. It sure has gone by fast. 

We had the best time on this evening at a Roswell Park. It was great to catch up with Bailey and meet Derek. Love this little family. And Bailey was just as cute as she could possibly be. I so enjoyed being her photographer:)
